3 drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama, 8 in B’pora in this month

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Pulwama and also arrested 8 drug peddlers during the current month in Bandipora district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the arrested drug peddlers in Pulwama have been identified as Syed Adil S/o Syed Showkat resident of Gundipora Pulwama, Aqib Rashid Yatoo S/o Abdul Rashid Yatoo R/o Drusoo Pulwama and Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh R/o Gangoo Pulwama, adding therein that a huge quantity of contraband including 19.20 Kgs of Bhang Patri, 359.55 grams of Charas Powder, 110.5 grams of Charas sticks and 6.14 grams of Heroin were recovered from their possession.
Police in its statement further said that in Bandipora Eight hard-core drug traffickers involved in the trafficking of drugs and narcotic substances were arrested and bstantial quantities of contraband substances were also recovered from their possession during the current month. Police in its statement identified the arrested drug peddlers as Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh S/o Nazir Ahmad Sheikh R/o Kaloosa Bandipora, Tawqeer Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohmad Arif Bhat R/o Naz Colony Bandipora, Muzafar Ahmad Lone S/o Abdul Majeed Lone R/o Nusso Bandipora, Waseem Ahmad Mir S/o Late Farooq Ahmad Mir R/o Magnipora Bandipora, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh R/o Nowpora Bandipora, Ishfaq Ahmad Wani S/o Gh Nabi Wani R/o Bazar Sumbal, Ishfaq Hussain Rather S/o Gh Mohd Rather R/o Harinara Nowgam Sumbal and a lady drug trafficker (name with held) resident of Sumlar Bandipora.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward in fight against the drug menace and even contact the nearest police station or dial 112 if any drug peddling gets noticed in their area.
