Alumni Association meeting held at GCOE Jammu

Jammu : Alumni Association of Government College of Education, Jammu, organized a special meeting, featuring an insightful lecture on “Communication Skills for Professional Development” by Madhvi Sharma, Senior Broadcaster, All India Radio (AIR).
The event commenced with a welcome address by the President Dr Davinder Kour, who is also Convener of Alumni Association of GCOE Jammu.
In her Presidential address the College Principal, Dr Jyoti Parihar emphasized the significance of alumni engagement in the growth of the institution and the professional development of students. She appreciated the presence of esteemed alumni and special guest Madhvi Sharma, whose expertise in broadcasting and communication added great value to the session.
In her lecture, Madhavi Sharma highlighted the importance of effective verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, active listening and confidence building in professional settings. She shared real-life experiences from her career in broadcasting, providing practical insights on how strong communication skills can enhance career prospects.
Illustrious alumni who also spoke on the occasion were Dr Joginder Singh, Associate Professor, GDC Samba, Rajiv Trikha, Lecturer, Jawaz Iqbal Wani, Best Teacher Awardee, Mukeet Ahmed, Ph.D. Scholar, Anjali and others.
The program was organized by Alumni Relations Cell members Dr Shalini Rana, Prof Balwan Singh , Dr Suraj Prakash, Ramandeep Kralia. Harpreet Kour compared the program.
All the faculty members were also present on the occasion. Razia, Jaspreet, President, Anadika, Sneha, Surbhi, Riya, Rakhsha and Diksha were the student organizers. About fifty students were present on the occasion. The formal Vote of thanks was presented by Prof Balwan Singh.
