Srinagar : President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday emphasized the party’s unwavering commitment to bringing benefits of development, welfare schemes to all members of society in J&K irrespective of their religious, regional, or political affiliations.
Addressing a one Day Conference of the party’s SC wing, organised by Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell at the party’s provincial headquarters S K Bhawan Jammu Dr. Farooq emphasized the importance of reaching out to the people and stepping out of our comfort zones. He highlighted the crucial role that party functionaries play as a link between the party and the general public. Dr. Farooq also discussed the significance of addressing the educational and nutritional needs of young girls. He questioned how our daughters and sisters can fulfill the responsibilities of motherhood and marriage if they are not healthy and well-nourished.
Dr. Farooq said, “It is essential for us to take care of our own families before we can effectively serve our region. Let us all commit to supporting the growth and development of our young girls, as they are the future leaders of tomorrow.”
He further emphasized that the National Conference has consistently prioritized the representation of the Scheduled Caste community in Legislative councils. “It has been our unwavering commitment to ensure that all segments of society are adequately represented in government and the legislature. Under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, the government has allocated two significant cabinet positions to the Jammu region. The socio-economic status of our Scheduled Caste brethren in Jammu is notably superior to that of their counterparts in other parts of the country, thanks to the progressive and inclusive policies implemented by the National Conference from time to time. Our party’s core objective is to foster unity among all segments of society and to guarantee that the benefits of development are accessible to every household, irrespective of caste, creed, region, religion, or political affiliations.”
