Jammu : In a monumental celebration, Mission Shakti Social Welfare Department marked 10 glorious years of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative at Government Higher Secondary School, Block Arnia. The event was a resounding testament to the organization’s unwavering commitment to empowering girls and fostering gender equality.
MLA, Rajeev Bhagat graced the occasion as the chief guest, lauding Mission Shakti’s relentless efforts in driving change at the grassroots level. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the transformational impact the initiative has had on the lives of countless young girls over the past decade.
In line with its mission to tackle societal taboos, Mission Shakti installed a Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine at the school premises. This groundbreaking step aims to eradicate the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide young girls with easy access to essential hygiene products, further empowering them to lead healthy and confident lives.
Adding vibrancy to the celebration, students showcased their talents through cultural performances, including dance, skits, and poetry recitations. These activities beautifully captured the theme for National Girl Child Day 2025—“Empowering Girls for a Bright Future.”
The event also recognized and rewarded academic excellence. Meritorious students were honored with essential school supplies, including bags, water bottles, and tiffin boxes, as a gesture of encouragement for their hard work and dedication.
Prominent dignitaries such as BDO Arnia Viplove Sudan, District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti Shagun Manchanda, Principal Sushma Kumari, and other officials from Mission Shakti Sankalp and the BDO office attended the event, further adding to its significance.
The programme, organized under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Navaz Sharief in collaboration with RDD, was a shining example of coordinated efforts to uplift and empower young girls.
Mission Shakti’s decade-long journey continues to inspire, breaking barriers and setting benchmarks for social welfare and gender empowerment. As the organization looks ahead, its commitment to ensuring every girl’s right to education, dignity, and opportunity remains stronger than ever.
