Kulgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Wednesday chaired a meeting of Agriculture and allied departments of Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry to take review of establishment and functioning of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) and the status of farmer registrations.
The DC advocated for fast pacing the registrations of all farmers on designated portals within the shortest possible time. He also emphasized the need to publicise the services of KKGs for the benefit of farmers.
It is worth mentioning here that Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) serves as a one-stop solution for agriculture and allied sectors, providing a comprehensive range of services to farmers at the Panchayat level.
Addressing the meeting, the DC impressed upon the Krishi Udyamis (KUs) running these KKGs to make specialized service as their golden motive so as to facilitate the farmer community of the district in availing benefits under various government sponsored schemes.
Athar urged the Executive Engineers of PWD to speed up the procurement of IT & Non IT items for making the KKGs functional at the earliest.
District Agricultural Officer Kulgam through a power point presentation informed the chair that during the last one and half year program of HADP the department has organised as many as 527 agricultural camps, reaching to around 32000 farming registrations. He apprised the chair that 81 Krishi Udyamis have been identified by the department to help out the farming community in these KKGs in the district.
10 KKGs are already strategically placed across Kulgam to serve farmers at the grassroots level and are equipped with advanced hardware and software facilities to deliver a range of agricultural services effectively in a user-friendly manner in phase 1. While 71 more KKGs are coming up in the second phase, the meeting was informed.
It is pertinent to mention that KKG initiative aligns with broader government efforts to strengthen rural agricultural infrastructure, aiming to boost productivity and support the livelihood of the district’s farming community by adopting modern agricultural practices and services for sustainable development.
Among others, CPO, CHO, CAHO, AD Fishers, Agriculture Officer, DSHO, Sericulture Officer, LDM, Xen R&B besides, Krishi Udyamis attended the meeting.
