Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Pulwama and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on specific inputs about concealing of narcotic substance at the residential houses of two drug peddlers at Kisrigam Kakapora a police party from Police Station Kakapora raided both the residential houses and also recovered 10.7 Kgs of grinded Charras Powder from the residential house of Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o Gh. Nabi Dar besides recovering 7.8 Kgs of grinded Charras Powder from the residential house of Irshad Ahmad Mantoo S/o Gh. Nabi Mantoo.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action, a police party of Police Statioin Litter during naka checking at Litter near Petrol Pump intercepted a suspect identified as Mehraj-u-din Shah S/o Gulam Hassan Shah R/o Chari Sharief Budgam and during checking recovered 200 grams of Charas like from the accused possession. Stating that all the accused have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations Police in its statement further said the cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations besides which investigations have been also initiated against them.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
