Srinagar : The National Centre for School Leadership has conferred the National School Leadership award upon two exceptional Kashmiri teachers, Javid Ahmad Banday and Ms. Rehana Quasar. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon them at the esteemed “Exemplars of Change and Innovation in 2025” conference, organized by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) under the Ministry of Education.
Javid Ahmad Banday, Principal of Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School Beerwah, Budgam, and Mtr. Rehana Quasar, Head Teacher of Government Boys’ Middle School Yarikalan, Zone Chadoora Budgam, were selected for their outstanding leadership, innovative practices, and transformative contributions to school education. The conference, held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi from January 8-10, 2025, brought together 57 school heads from across India.
The National School Leadership award acknowledges visionary principals who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and innovative practices in school education. Speaking on the conference, Javid Ahmad Banday emphasized the need for vibrant school leadership in contemporary times to foster academic excellence, innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and 21st-century life skills among students. Mtr Rehana Quassar also shared her valuable experiences and insights, inspiring educators to strive for excellence in their roles as leaders. Both teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India and the National Center for School Leadership for recognizing their efforts and also thanked Director Dr G N Itto ,SPD SAMAGRA, SCERT and CEO budgam for providing valuable insight and guidance in this endeavor.
