Eid-e- Milad-Un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations today

Jammu: As Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is being celebrated today (Friday) theGovernor N N Vohra, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and several other ministers have greeted the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Eid-i-Milad, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In his message of greetings, the Governor N N Vohra has observed that Islam teaches us the values of brotherhood, simplicity, compassion and morality, all of which need to be vigorously inculcated in today’s trouble torn world. The Governor has prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people of the State.
In her message of felicitation, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti prayed that the auspicious occasion proves to be a harbinger of harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the State. “It’s an occasion to seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah and blessings for the entire mankind”, she said. The Chief Minister said in the present-day world, marred by conflicts and discord, there is a dire need to practice firmly and promote the teachings of Prophet of Mercy (SAW) in which lies the solution to all problems of mankind. Mehbooba Mufti has prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people of the State.
Greeting the people on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh expressed hope that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of harmony and usher peace, progress and prosperity in the State. Singh said that Islam teaches us the values of brotherhood, peace, simplicity, compassion, which is more relevant today.
Minister for Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rahman Veeri, Minister for Animal and sheep Husbandry, Abdul Gani Kohli and Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali have also greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and expressed the hope that the occasion would be harbinger of harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the State. Praying for the well-being and happiness of the people of the State, the Ministers in their greetings said that Islam teaches us the values of brotherhood, simplicity, compassion and morality, all of which need to be vigorously inculcated in today’s trouble-torn world. The Ministers said that the Birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) provides us opportunity to pray and seek forgiveness and blessings from the Almighty for the entire mankind.
In his message, the Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf Farooq Andrabi said this holy day marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose life was an embodiment of love, equality and brotherhood.
He prayed that the holy day ushers peace, progress and development in the State. He said that for peace, harmony and brotherhood to prevail we all should follow the path of love and tolerance. While reviewing the arrangements of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), to be observed on Friday, the Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, besides stressed on maintaining proper cleanliness in and around the shrines of Hazratbal, JenabSahab Soura, AsarShariefKailashpora, Kabamarg Anantnag, Aham Sharief Bandipora, Pinjoora Shopian and MakhamaBeerwah. He also directed SRTC to provide hassle free transport services to the devotees.
