DC reviews progress of NABARD RIDF projects in Poonch Distt

Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal assessed the physical and financial progress of the NABARD Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in Poonch district.
The meeting aimed to evaluate various developmental initiatives targeting infrastructure improvement in underserved areas.
During the discussions, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need for expediting forest and revenue clearance procedures to streamline the development process for community benefit. He stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination to overcome developmental challenges and reviewed the status of road connectivity across the district’s three subdivisions.
SDM Mendhar and SDM Surankote participated virtually, providing detailed updates on the ongoing works in their respective divisions.
Following a thorough discussion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer of PWD to strictly adhere to the approved plans and expedite ongoing projects. He emphasized the need for a proactive approach in resolving pending road issues.
Additionally, he instructed concerned executive engineers to prioritize the clearance of lapse-able funds, particularly under the district Capex.
The Deputy Commissioner also set a deadline for the completion of the BADP plan by the end of January 2025.
The meeting was attended by key officials including SE PWD (R&B), ACR Poonch, CPO, Xen PWD Division Poonch, Xen PHE, AEE’s, and other concerned officers, all of whom are committed to enhancing infrastructure development in the district.
