Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police team of Police Station Chanapora at a checkpoint established at Chanpora intercepted a vehicle (Tempo Traveller) bearing registration no JK02AF-1776, with two persons identified as Umer Manzoor Rather R/o Natipora @ Manadev and Yawer Ahmad Bhat R/o Baghat Kanipora on board and during search recovered substantial quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 03/2025 under NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Chanapora besides initiating further investigation, Police
in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to assist it in the fight against drug trafficking by sharing any relevant information.
