Srinagar: J&K Bank Chairman & CEO Parvez Ahmed Thursday dedicated two Automated Teller Machines to the Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) for public use.

Chairman Parvez Ahmed and the Director SKIMS Prof Abdul Gani Ahangar inaugurated the ATMs jointly in a simple ceremony attended by the senior management of the Bank, other officers and officials of SKIMS amid good gathering of attendants present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Parvez Ahmed said, “As institution we are dedicated to provide world class products and hassle free services to people of the state. In view of the huge rush of public on daily basis to this tertiary care hospital, we commissioned two more ATMs in addition to the two that are already serving on the premises.”

“These inaugurations are not only part of our deepening the digital foot-print here but blends that with the real convenience and comfort of the people that remain at the heart of our every service delivery policy”, he added.

“I must admit that the employees of J&K Bank SKIMS branch are very dedicated as they provide hassle free and instant services to the more than 7000 employees of the institute. And these ATMs shall go a long way in benefiting both the patients and the staff at SKIMS”, remarked Director SKIMS, Dr. A G Ahangar while talking to the J&K Bank management on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony.

Meanwhile, he tossed up the idea of providing a health insurance cover to the people of the state on mass level by the bank wherein on small premium they can avail a range of health benefits, which was favourably responded to by the chairman.

“We are already at discussion level with our insurance partners in this regard and are keen to work on the strategic projects in partnership with other stakeholders to provide the much needed value addition to the health sector in the state”, Chairman said.

To promote the digital banking culture among the staff members of the institute wherein they can avail loans and other banking related services on just a phone call, Chairman called for further deliberations and information exchange with the SKIMS authorities in this regard.

On the occasion, he also expressed his desire to open an e lobby in the institute in case some requisite space was available for it.

Notably, now there are 4 ATMs within the SKIMS premises to serve and benefit large number of SKIMS employees besides the unending stream of attendants who mostly need cash to purchase medicines or other related equipment in emergency situations from the market.

Meanwhile, Chairman also inaugurated an ATM in Umar Colony at Lal Bazar Srinagar amid good gathering of valuable customers, local traders and senior citizens.
