DC Shopian chairs meeting of stakeholder deptts, details out action plan

Shopian: Arrangements for inaugural Winter Carnival, ‘NAGRAI HEEMAL,’ scheduled for January 11th and 12th at Dubjan, Shopian were finalized on Wednesday here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.
On the occasion, the DC detailed out the department wise action plans for the impactful organisation of mega and first of its kind event in the district, which aims to promote tourism, culture, and community engagement. The carnival will feature a variety of activities, including snow crafts, snow igloos, ice sports, competitions for children, and exhibitions of local cuisine and arts. The administration has sought participation of locals for engaging them in activities of adventure, arts etc along with showcasing the rich culture and heritage of the district.
The District administration has made all arrangements and is coordinating efforts across various departments to ensure the event’s success for promoting the tourism potential of Mughal road- Heerpora wildlife sanctuary and Historic Sarais circuit. DC emphasized the importance of effective planning and collaboration among departments to provide a memorable experience for participants and has called out for maximum participation. SSP, Shopian, Anayat Ali; ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone; ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz officers of district administration & security forces were present.
