Jammu : Police on Saturday said it has arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin-like substance from his possession in the Sidhra area as part of their ongoing anti-drug campaign under Operation Sanjeevani.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquaters Jammu Police said that on January 3a police team from Police Post Sidhra, during routine patrolling in the Waliabad area of Sidhra, noticed a pedestrian behaving suspiciously, adding therein that the individual, who was walking from Raghoora towards Sidhra, tried to flee upon seeing the police team.
Stating that the team, led by PSI Rohit Manhas, In-Charge of Police Post Sidhra, apprehended the suspect identified as Bagh Hussain S/o Alam Din , R/o Khanpur Raj Bagh, Kathua on the spot who is currently residing in Raghoora, Jammu, Police in its statement further said that during search, 8-9 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 05/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota, marking a significant success in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking.
