Distt Admin Shopian prepares for maiden Winter Carnival, DC reviews arrangements with officers

Shopian: The District Administration, Shopian is gearing up for its maiden Winter Carnival in order to demonstrate the commitment of district administration to promote tourism, culture and community engagement in Shopian.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar has taken a hands-on approach to ensure everything goes smoothly. He chaired a meeting with officers to review the arrangements and preparations for the carnival.
Department wise arrangements were fixed on the occasion to make the Winter Carnival a success.
The event will be organised at Dubjan along the Mughal Road, and shall involve various activities, artistic performances, sports events, entertainment events for promotion of tourism, arts and culture of the district including snow crafts, snow igloos, ice sports and competitions for children, exhibition of local cuisine, foods and arts among a litany of diverse activities.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR and other district and sectoral officers.
