GDC Marh organizes Alumni Meet SANGAM-III

Jammu : A nostalgic reunion of memories, moments and milestones marked the Alumni Meet Sangam-III 2024 at Government Degree College Marh.
The event saw a gathering of alumni of various batches, who came together to revive their college days and reconnect with their alma mater. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The meet featured an inaugural address by the Chief Guest of the event, Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, who welcomed and greeted alumni about their success they achieved in their life and enlightened the alumni about their contribution in the progress of the college.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof MadhviParasher. Prof ImtiazShahid, IQAC convener addressed the gathering about the objective of organizing alumni meet in the college being one of the stakeholders, monitoring career guidelines, alumni chapter and networking guest lectures and workshops, strong alumni association and development of directory.
Faculty members of the college Prof Anita Kumari, Prof MadhviParasher, Prof Ramdayal, Dr. BalwinderSaini, DrAshu Jolly, Prof AnjanaChib, Prof Sachin Kumar Bhagat, Ravi Kumar (PTI) participated in the brainstorming session wherein the future plans for the development of the college were discussed threadbare and also the alumni were suggested to become focused and successful so that they can benefit the college by their collaborations in the progression among diverse zones such as increasing enrollment, particularly in the field of science and making college net zero carbon emission and by efficient water management and greener energy initiatives.
The event provided a platform for the alumni to share their experiences, achievements and memories, while also fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the attendees. The President of the Registered Alumni Association GDCMAA explained their contributions by creating a Bank Account of Alumni, QR Code of the Account and raising of funds to the tune of Rs. 7000 in a shortest 6 months time. The Alumni who are doing post graduation in Chemistry, Physics and Arts shared their memories of the college.
One of the Alumni serving in CRPF shared his hardwork and suggested the present students of the college to focus on competitive exams and never give up. The executive body of the alumni association namely Atul Narayan Singh, Harsh Mehra, Akhil Sharma, SanjanaBhagat and Ashish Sharma were honoured by presenting mementos.
A total of 70 students participated in the event. Feedback from Alumni was solicited.
The college presidium led by President Sushain Sharma helped in organizing the event. The faculty members who graced the occasion were Prof. AshaKumari, Dr. Shakun Sharma, Prof. Surbhi Gupta, Dr. Priya Sharma, Mohd. Younis, Dr. NadeemFarooq, Dr. Shiksha Rani, Dr. Samvendna Sharma and Dr. RuchikaKumari, Rabia, Dr. GurleenKour and Dr. BrijBirJaswal. The staff members helped in organizing the programmeKewalKrishan, MohitKalotra, RachhpalLal and Anita Devi.
