New Dehli: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a High-Level Security Review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), RAW Chief, Chief of Army Staff, GOC-in-C (Northern Command), DGMO, Chief Secretary and DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, heads of CAPFs, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In his address, the Union Home Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to achieving a Militancy Free Jammu and Kashmir’ in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Zero Tolerance Policy against Militancy.
He assured that all necessary resources would be mobilized to accomplish this goal. Amit Shah emphasized that the Modi Government, with the combined efforts of all security forces, remains dedicated to establishing complete dominance over militancy in the region.
The Union Home Minister also highlighted the unprecedented participation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, underscoring their unwavering faith in the country’s democracy. He commended the security agencies for their significant achievements in reducing militancy related incidents, infiltration, and the recruitment of youth into militant organizations.
Amit Shah noted that, due to the sustained and coordinated efforts of the Modi Government, the militant ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir has nearly been eradicated. He urged all security agencies to continue their coordinated efforts in eliminating militancy and directed the implementation of the Area Domination Plan and Zero militancy Plan on a mission mode.
The meeting also focused on strengthening operational strategies and improving coordination among security agencies to ensure effective counter militancy operations. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the region would be fully supported in its transition towards peace and progress.
He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of the security forces, local administration, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir would pave the way for a stable and prosperous future, free from the menace of militancy.
