Srinagar|Dec,18: Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA Gulmarg, held an interactive session at Royal Spring Golf Course, Srinagar, with leading travel agents and industry stakeholders from Mumbai. The session aimed to position Jammu and Kashmir as a premier destination for weddings and film shooting, leveraging its unparalleled natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
The event witnessed the participation of several prominent figures, including Abhijeet Patil, Chairman of Raja Rani Travels & Globe Hoppers; Vishvajeet Patil, Director of Raja Rani Travels & President of MTOA; Ms. Mahima, Vice President of Ferns & Petals; Mr. Suhail Saeed of Taha Films; and Ms. Anshu Sharma, Vice President of Strategic Alliances, Wedding Tourism Consortium. Addressing the gathering, Farooq Ahmad Shah emphasized the unique potential of Jammu and Kashmir as a wedding and film shooting destination, highlighting its scenic locations, vibrant culture, and hospitable environment. He urged the participants to collaborate in showcasing the region’s beauty to the world and making it a hub for high-end tourism. “Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential to emerge as a top choice for weddings and film productions. Our aim is to create opportunities that boost the local economy while preserving the region’s cultural identity,” Shah stated. Later in the day, Farooq Ahmad Shah attended the Annual Business Meet hosted by Shamas Residency, Sonawar Srinagar, where he addressed travel trade operators and service providers. Speaking at the event, Shah emphasized the importance of ethical practices in the tourism industry and urged stakeholders to promote local handloom and handicraft products. “The tourism industry plays a crucial role in our economy. It is our collective responsibility to work with sincerity and fairness while prioritizing the promotion of local art and craftsmanship,” he said.
