In this regard, DC addressed a press conference here on Monday, highlighting that the landmark event aims to showcase Kishtwar’s rich cultural heritage, promote literary arts and attract tourists to enjoy the abundance of natural beauty of the region.
“This is a proud moment for Kishtwar as renowned artists, including singers like Chaman Lehri, Shoaib Kandoo, and Zahida Tarannum, and dancers like Tavishi Anand, will perform at the event,” informed the DC
Another purpose will be to provide the youth and citizens of Kishtwar an opportunity to learn about the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, UT Schemes, Mission Youth initiatives, Skill Development Programs, and professional courses for youth, he said and added that the District Administration has also taken significant steps towards making Kishtwar a TB Mukht District and promoting massive plantation drives.
“By hosting this unique event, we aim to provide a platform to poets, writers, and artists from across the nation to come together, exchange ideas, and promote these missions while celebrating Kishtwar’s scenic beauty and cultural vibrancy” he said.
He further said that the Autumn Festival will feature a wide range of cultural programs, including folk music and dance performances, handicraft exhibitions, Free Medical Camps and local cuisine, offering visitors a glimpse into Kishtwar’s diverse traditions.
“Complementing this, the All India Kavi Sammelan/Mushaira will bring together renowned poets and literary figures from across the country, such as Shakeel Azmi, Sampat Saral, Varun Anand, Liyakat Jaffery, Prabhat Sharma, and Ramesh Mastana to enlighten the people here” he informed. Local poets will also participate, fostering an enriching exchange of ideas through poetry and storytelling.
The DC emphasized the importance of such events in fostering cultural unity and boosting tourism. He stated, “This festival will not only promote Kishtwar’s identity on a national stage but will also act as a catalyst for economic growth by attracting visitors and supporting local artisans and entrepreneurs.”
The event is expected to attract more than 40,000 participants and audiences from all walks of life, transforming Kishtwar into a hub of cultural and literary activity.
Elaborate arrangements have been made by the district administration to ensure the success of the event, with a focus on seamless coordination, security, and hospitality for all attendees, informed the DC Kishtwar.
