Police organises Thana Diwas in Handwara

Srinagar : Police in Handwara on Thursday organized ‘Thana Divas’ functions at Police station Handwara, Police station Kralgund, Police station Qalamabad, Police station Vilgam, Police Post Magam, zachaldara, Police Post Langate, Police Post Chogul. The events were chaired by respective supervisory & jurisdictional Police officers.
The main function was held at Police Station Handwara, where SDPO Handwara Hamid Ali chaired the Thana Diwas function. The meetings were attended by respectable citizens, civil societies of concerned areas, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation and Transporters etc.
On these occasions, participants highlighted various issues of public importance. During these events, all the grievances were heard and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction. The attendees were assured that all the grievances pertaining to Police department will be dealt as per the law and remaining grievances lying outside the domain of Police department will be taken up with the concerned authorities under laid down procedure. During these meetings, the cooperation of general public in eradication of drug abuse, social crimes etc were sought. Participants were stressed upon to co-operate with Police in curbing the drug menace and in identifying anti national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
