Srinagar : Aimed at providing faculty with valuable opportunities for professional growth by enhancing their knowledge base, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and refining their teaching methodologies, the one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) in Social Sciences concluded here at University of Kashmir (KU) on Monday.
The program was organised by Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), University of Kashmir and was held from December 2 to December 9, 2024.
The program focussed on enhancing the research and teaching skills of faculty members in various disciplines of social sciences, aligning with the latest advancements in pedagogy and methodology.
While interacting with the participants during the valedictory session Dean Academic Affairs KU Prof. Peerzada Shareef Ud Din who was chief guest on the occasion reiterated the KU`s commitment to empower educators through such initiatives and highlighted the importance of Social Sciences in the overall development of the nation.
“Integrating innovative teaching strategies and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration can redefine the teaching-learning paradigm,” said Prof Peerzada Shareef Ud Din.
Registrar KU Prof Naseer Iqbal who was guest of honour on the occasion in his speech emphasized the significant benefits of organizing such programs for the holistic development of faculty members in the field of social sciences. Ex. Director General Budget, Accounts and Treasuries and Funds Organisation J&K Government ·Dr. Ishaq Wani, in his special remarks provided an insight on the evolving dynamics of social sciences in academia.
Director, UGC MMTTC, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad, highlighted some of the major takeaways from this Program While Dr. Younus, Coordinator of the Program, provided a brief outline of the FDP before the audience.
The FDP featured interactive sessions, expert lectures, and workshops facilitated by renowned academicians and practitioners. The participants hailed the program as a significant step toward fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and enriching the academic landscape of social sciences.
