Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has attached five residential houses and three vehicles, collectively valued at Rs. 4.3 crores, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act here Anantnag, Stating therein further that this decisive action is part of ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace in the region.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that single-storied house of Reyaz Ahmad Dar S/o Mohammad Ramzan Dar R/o Hassanpora Tawella was attached by Bijbehara Police for involvement in several NDPS cases. Stating that similiarly double-storied house of Mohammad Yousuf Reshi S/o Ali Mohammad Reshi R/o Bijbehara, linked to a major narcotics recovery case was attached by Bijbehara Police, Police in its statement further said that single-storied residential property of Subzar Ahmad Mir S/o Sonaullah Mir Fr/o Hassanpora Tawella and double-storied residential house of Mohammad Shafi Dar S/o Mohammad Maqbool Dar R/o Tulkhan Bijbehara was also attacjed for involvement in NDPS activities. Police in its statement further said that residential house valued at Rs. 30 lakhs of a habitual offender Abdul Hamid Chopan R/O Malpora Ranipora was attached by Achabal Police. Stating that vehicles seized include a Santro car bearing registration no JK02B-6823 belonging to Mohammad Shafi Dar, WagonR bearing registration no HR28C-9580 owned by Manzoor Ahmad Mantoo of Waghama Bijbehara and Toyota Corolla bearing registration no HR51AL-0505 registered to Rahul Singh of New Delhi, Police in its statement further said that the total value of attached properties is Rs. 4.3 crores, adding therein that that these proactive measures reflect commitment of J&K Police in dismantling drug trafficking networks besides initiating legal action agains those involved in such crimes .
