Udhampur: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, SaloniRai on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the progress of the PradhanMantriAwasYojana-Urban Scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh; Chief Planning Officer, MohdIqbal; Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Udhampur, RajinderDigra; Tehsildar Jai Singh and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed review of the implementation of the scheme across one Municipal Council and two Municipal Committees in the district. She stressed the importance of adhering to the stipulated timelines and directed the officers to ensure advanced financial mobilization for pending cases and timely completion of all housing units.
Concerned officers were directed to establish a dedicated help desk in the office premises to address queries and facilitate beneficiaries.
A comprehensive survey will be conducted to identify and include all eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, the meeting decided. Officers were directed to hold Information, Education and Communication and awareness campaigns in their respective wards to ensure widespread dissemination of information about the scheme. The SDMs were asked to personally monitor the progress and conduct weekly review meetings to ensure accountability.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized strict adherence to the PMAY-Urban guidelines, ensuring that all genuinely eligible beneficiaries are covered under the scheme. She reiterated the importance of implementing the scheme in letter and spirit to achieve its intended goals effectively.
Necessary directions were issued to the concerned officers to facilitate smooth execution of the scheme and meet the objectives of “Housing for All” under PMAY-Urban.
