JMC launches Clean Toilet Campaign-2024

Jammu : Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav on Wednesday launched the much-anticipated “Clean Toilet Campaign (CTC) 2024” here at a ceremony held in Ward No. 54, Sulabh Sochalaya, Trikuta Nagar.
The campaign aims to promote hygiene and cleanliness across public sanitation facilities in the city, reaffirming JMC’s commitment to a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
The event was graced by the presence of the Commissioner, JMC Dr. Devansh Yadav, Joint Commissioner, (H&S), Abdul Sattar, Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma, I/c IEC, Dr. Divya Sharma, CTO, JMC, Dharam Vir Singh, senior officials of the Corporation, Ward Councillors, and several community leaders. A significant turnout from local residents and representatives underlined the community’s collective enthusiasm for the initiative.
On the occasion, the Commissioner announced the Ward Level Swachhta Champions, individuals and community groups committed to adopting and maintaining public toilets in their respective wards. These champions will serve as pivotal stakeholders in regulating JMC’s drive to enhance public hygiene, ensuring that the facilities remain clean, functional, and accessible to all.
To formalize their roles, a ceremonial signing of the Adoption Form for Public Toilet Monitoring also took place. This initiative seeks to strengthen public accountability and foster a sense of shared responsibility among residents for the upkeep of public sanitation facilities.
In his keynote address, Commissioner, JMC, Dr. Devansh Yadav emphasized the public participation to make this campaign a success. Kritika Khanna Para-athelete and Bronze medallist Asian Games was also nominated as a Swacchta Champion. She volunteered to adopt one public toilet in Channi Himmat area for supervision.
Sohan Lal, W.no. 23, Nai Basti, Vijay Gupta, and Rajinder Kakkar, W.No. 54, Trikuta Nagar, Tarun Kumar, W.no. 15 Indira Chowk, OP Sharma, W.No. 66, Lower Roop Nagar Muthi, Vishav Sharma, W.No. 70, Sainik colony, Shiv Kumar Sharma, W.No. 13, Resham Ghar Colony, Vishal Malhotra, W.No. 50 Channi Himmat, Sector-3, Varun Sharma, W.No. 20/21, Gandhi Nagar, Vinod Kumar W.No. 45 Digiana Pulli, Vivek Kumar, W.No. 47 Bahu Fort, Rahul Sharma, W,No. 10 Pacca Danga, NK Bali, W.No. 53 Sai Palace Trikuta Nagar all have taken pledge to adopt a public toilet, monitor its condition and provide necessary support for better maintenance to keep city clean
