SRINAGAR, Dec 4: A fire incident damaged two rooms of a boys’ hostel at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar on Wednesday, officials said.
According to Fire and Emergency Services officials, the fire broke out at 1:20 PM in one of the hostel room of the three-story building and quickly spread to another room, causing damage to both.
However, the timely response of the fire services and NIT staff brought the fire under control promptly, preventing further damage.
No one was injured in the incident, they said, adding that the students were not present in these rooms at the time of incident.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained, the officials added.
