Doda: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, who was on a tour to this mountainous District, took a comprehensive review of developmental activities and working of the Revenue department in the region.
Chairing a meeting here in the Conference Hall of the DC Office, the Div Com reviewed the execution of the District Capex Budget Plan, progress of ongoing mega projects and the implementation of key government schemes.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh, ADDC Pran Singh and the officials from other departments.
The Divisional Commissioner emphasized on improving key indicators in Health & Education, besides resolving bottlenecks that hinder work execution.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the status of major developmental projects, flagship government schemes and welfare initiatives being implemented in the district. Updates were provided on infrastructure development, healthcare, education, rural development and other priority sectors.
Work on major projects such as NH-244, infrastructure development in GMC & Associated Hospital, road projects under NABARD & CRIF were thoroughly reviewed and directions were passed to stick to timelines for completion.
The Divisional Commissioner further stressed the importance of safety measures along the national highway and other roads of the district.
Reviewing the health sector, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized improving medical services and enhancing healthcare facilities, including trauma care & preparations for the winter season.
Taking the review of the education sector, the Divisional Commissioner highlighted the need to reduce dropout rates and increase student enrollment, especially under the TALAASH initiative. He urged departments to achieve targets for Centrally Sponsored Schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY (Gramin and Urban), PMJAY and other public welfare schemes to give maximum benefit to the public in a time bound manner.
The meeting also discussed tourism preparedness for the winter season, with directions to enhance accessibility & safety, the availability of snow clearance machinery and improved facilities at tourist destinations of the District.
The Divisional Commissioner directed officers to focus on increasing accountability in the PDD sector, completion of works under RDSS & JJM and ensuring effective implementation of the public centric schemes.
Special attention was given to increasing enrollment under HADP initiatives and strengthening the institutions of Kisan Khidmat Ghars to build a resilient Rural Ecosystem.
The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed Revenue administration and emphasised the importance of timely delivery of revenue services in addition to modernisation & digitisation of revenue records. He stressed on the importance of regular review meetings for ensuring coordination among various departments and adherence to set timelines. He urged officers to prioritize public welfare schemes and promptly resolve issues of the public in a citizen centric manner.
