Jammu : The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu concluded on Saturday its International Conference on Next-Gen Supply Chain: Trends, Innovations, and Best Practices, organized in collaboration with Montpellier Business School, France, and Liverpool Business School, UK.
The two-day conference, held from November 22–23, 2024, brought together global scholars and industry experts to discuss innovations and advancements in supply chain management. Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, Program Chair, welcomed participants to the valedictory ceremony of International Conference on Next-Generation Supply Chain at IIM Jammu’s Jagti campus, crediting Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, for his visionary leadership. He highlighted the event’s scale, with 182 submissions, 109 shortlisted papers, from including IITs, IIMs, and top B Schools. Focusing on supply chain topics aligned with the
SDGs, he announced the launch of a conference proceeding. Present on the occasion were Dr. Rajesh Sikka, Dr. Pradeep. K. Tarei, Yashoda. Devi, Dr. Somu Gorai, faculty, IIM Jammu. The second day of the conference began with an engaging Editors’ Talk by Prof. Subodha Kumar, Deputy Editor of the Production and Operations Management Journal. This session offered insights into the evolving landscape of academic publishing in supply chain research. Another Editors’ Talk was delivered by Prof. Dr. Habil. Dmitry Ivanov, Editor of the International Journal of Integrated Supply Management and Associate Editor for leading journals like International Journal of Production Research, International Transactions in Operational Research, and OMEGA. The session provided a detailed perspective on the intricacies of academic publication and trends in supply chain research. This was followed by conference paper presentations at Aryabhatta and Arjuna classrooms, where researchers
shared innovative ideas and solutions addressing real-world supply chain challenges. The conference highlighted emerging trends, innovative strategies, and best practices in supply chain management, reaffirming IIM Jammu’s commitment to global collaboration and academic excellence. The event
successfully bridged academic research and industry expertise, setting a benchmark for future initiatives.
