Srinagar : The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Choudhary Mohammad Iqbal on Friday inaugurated the Participatory Guarantee System of India (PGS) Facilitation Centre under alternate agriculture system for sustainability (HADP) at Lalmandi, Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director highlighted the importance of the facilitation centre. He said the centre would help farmers to get their organic produce certified, ensuring them good marketing opportunities outside Jammu & Kashmir.
He also said the centre would play a key role in the successful implementation of projects (related to organic certification) under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
Divisional Seed Certification Officer and other senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.
