Shopian : To facilitate and regulate mining activities without compromising on ensuring compliance with environmental norms, the District Level Task Force Cell, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad ShahidSaleem Dar on Monday met at Mini Secretariat, Shopian.
The meeting convened by the DC focused on several key issues, including the compliance to environmental norms by mining lessees and the prevention of illegal mining in the district.
The multi-department task force deliberated on vital approaches to monitor mining practices in the district.
On the occasion, reviewing the clearance of leases for their non involvement in illegal mining, the DC instructed DMO to prepare and submit reports before further action on the matter.
The DC on the occasion asked for taking strictest measures against persons and vehicles involved in illegal mining.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, DrNasir Ahmad Lone; ACR, DMO, DFO, DIO and others.
