VC JU reviews arrangements for upcoming NAAC team visit at Bhaderwah Campus

Bhaderwah : Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, commenced a three-day visit to Bhaderwah Campus to review preparations for the upcoming National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team visit. Accompanied by senior university officials, the Vice Chancellor evaluated the campus’s alignment with NAAC standards and progress on essential improvements.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office University of Jammu among the key university officials present were Prof. J.P. Singh Joorel, Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. Anju Bhasin, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean Planning and Development, Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Registrar, University of Jammu, Prof. Satya Paul, and Dr. Ginny Dogra, I/C Director DIQA, along with other university and campus representatives.
In his address, Prof. Rai emphasised the importance of meeting NAAC’s rigorous standards and underscored the need for the timely and thorough completion of all preparations. He expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of the campus administration, faculty, and staff, encouraging a sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. Prof. Rai also reviewed the campus’s progress on key performance areas aligned with NAAC’s seven assessment criteria, which include Curriculum Aspects, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Research, Innovation, and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance, Leadership and Management, and Institutional Values and Best Practices.
Prof. J.P. Singh Joorel, Rector Bhaderwah Campus provided a comprehensive briefing on the campus’s readiness for NAAC evaluation, highlighting the academic, infrastructural, and administrative enhancements made to meet the evaluation standards. He emphasized the campus’s commitment to upholding the University of Jammu’s reputation during this critical assessment process.
As part of the visit, the Vice Chancellor inaugurated online access to the Reservoir of Journalism at the campus library and launched the SOUL software for library automation. The Rector elaborated on these new initiatives, highlighting their role in modernizing campus resources and supporting academic growth. Additionally, on the eve of Children’s Day, the Vice Chancellor interacted with students of Little Angels School and distributed sweets. He also announced the development of a Children’s Park for the Little Angels School at Bhaderwah Campus.
Those present during the visit included Er. Rajeev Gupta, AEE; Er. Jeevan Singh, AEE; Dr. Rakesh Sharma, I/C Head of English and I/C IQA Bhaderwah Campus, Dr. Subhas Chander, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, In-Charge Head, IME Bhaderwah Campus; Dr. Kuljit Singh, Academic Coordinator, Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Dr. Cherring Tandop, Dr. Shayan Javed, Dr. Abid Sarwar, Dr. Ashok Sharma, Mujeeb Sheikh, Assistant Registrar, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Er. Santosh Kumar, Irfan Goni, Campus Development Officer, Er. Ameet Targotra, Assistant Director, Akanksha Sharma, Assistant Registrar, Salma Sheikh, Bandana Lehri, Yasar Ali, Disha Arti, and Vinod Kumar.
The Vice Chancellor’s visit underscores the University of Jammu’s strong commitment to maintaining high standards across all campuses, as Bhaderwah Campus makes its final preparations for a successful NAAC accreditation.
