BJP won’t allow murder of democracy in J&K: Chugh

Srinagar :BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Thrusday warned the Omar Abdullah government against murdering the mandate of democracy by resorting to disruptive and violent means.
Reacting strongly to the BJP members being marshalled out of the Assembly while they were trying to voice dissent against the resolution on Article 370, Chugh said it was a blatant attempt to stifle the voice of the people.
Chugh strong exception to the fact that Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh,an Awami Ittehad Party MLA representing the Langate constituency., was allowed to carry a banner inside the Assembly house with a message endorsing the NC government resolution and said there seemed to be an undercover attempt to revive terrorism in J&K in the name of Article 370.
Chugh questioned the silence of the Congress on the entire matter and said that it seemed that the NC and the Congress had joined hands to disrupt the democratic mandate in J&K and to get terrorism back in the Union Territory.
He said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is making a crass attempt to subvert the democratic institutions just to catch media eyes to more importantly to please his master across the border.
Chugh said the BJP firmly stood by the unity and integrity of J&K and would firmly foil all nefarious attempts to bring back the dark days in J&K.
He appealed to the Omar Abdullah government to give up its pro-Pakistan agenda and to start working on policies and programmes to help the people of J&K.
