Srinagar, Nov 6: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary Wednesday termed the resolution calling for the rollback of special status to J-K, “a reminder to New Delhi about the promises they made to the people of J-K on the floor of the parliament.”
Earlier today, the J-K Assembly passed a resolution demanding the rollback of Article-370 to the erstwhile state. The resolution led to a ruckus in the Assembly with opposition leaders from BJP protesting the move and calling it “anti-national.” The session was adjourned amid the commotion.
“We want to strengthen the Indian democracy. We spoke what the people, youth of J-K want,” Choudhary said.
If the centre could promise such things to Bihar, and Himachal including many other states, why can’t they give same treatment to Jammu and Kashmir, the deputy CM asked.
“You sold our lands, rivers, industrial land, brought such policies that destroyed the career of our youth,” said Choudhary.
“Our youth have no jobs, it’s the outsiders that are taking all these amenities,” he said.
He claimed that the BJP also wants this resolution to be passed but pretend to oppose it.
