Srinagar : Police in Kulgam on Monday organised an awareness programme on drug abuse and national integration at Bagdad Educational Trust Qazigund. The event was attended by over 100 students and staff members.
The program was focused on educating the participants about the ill effects of substance abuse thereby preventing their usage and to encourage the spirit of patriotism and brotherhood. During the programme an informative lecture, addressing the early signs of substance abuse, methods of detection and identification of potential abusers was delivered by SDPO Qazigund Rameez Raja. He also said that the aim of organising such events is to bridge the gap between police and public. Moreover, the treatments that are available for the drug addicts were also discussed in detail.
