Jammu: In a relentless pursuit against drug peddlers, Jammu Police made a significant breakthrough by arresting a drug peddler in Nagrota besides seizing heroin like substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that a Police party of Police Post Sidhra while on special Naka checking duty near Bajalta Chowk Sidhra noticed the movement of a suspect who was coming from Majeen Ragoora towards Sidhra but on seeing of Police party the suspected tried to escaped and jumped in road side Nallah. Stating that the said police party chased with the suspect and apprehended him, Police in its statement identified the suspect as Babar Khan S/o Ghullam Nabi R/o Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. Disclosing that during personal search of the suspect approx.25 grm Heroin like substance was recovered from his possession, Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No 287/2024 U/S 8/21/22 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, marking a decisive step towards curbing the drug trade in the area. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to remain vigilant against the scourge of drugs and report any suspicious activities promptly at the nearest Police Station.
