Srinagar: As a part of Public outreach programme, Police on Thursday organized ‘Thana Divas’ functions in Bandipora and Pulwama Districts. These events were chaired by respective supervisory & jurisdictional Police officers.
In Bandipora, the main function was held at Police Station Bandipora where SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta chaired the event. On this occasion DySP Hqrs Bandipora Lateef Khan & SHO Police Station Bandipora where also present. These meetings were attended by respectable citizens, civil societies of concerned areas, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation and Transporters etc.
similarly in Pulwama, Thana Diwas programmes were held at Police Stations Pulwama, Rajpora, Litter, Kakapora and Police Post Newa. The event saw active community participation aimed at fostering a collaborative approach to law enforcement and addressing local issues. At Police Station Kakapora, DySP Ops Pulwama presided over the program, engaging directly with the public. The Thana Diwas programs at Police Stations Pulwama, Rajpora, Litter and PP Newa were led by the concerned supervisory officers, who welcomed local residents, including Lumbardars, Chowkidars, and other community representatives, to discuss their concerns.
During the events, participants highlighted various issues of public importance. Besides, all the grievances were heard and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction. The participants were assured that genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority & that of Civil Administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. During these meetings, the cooperation of general public in eradication of drug abuse, social crimes etc were sought.
