Jammu: The 6th foundation day of the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir was celebrated with great fervor at the Convention Centre Jammu.
The event was graced by MLA Bahu, Vikram Randhawa, and attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, Commissioner JMC, MD JPDCL, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Jammu, HoDs, District and sectoral officers besides other people.
On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to the participants.
The event was marked by an impressive Cultural program presented by the artists of JKAACL. A short documentary on the changes and development seen in the last six years was also showcased.
Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com extended his wishes to everyone on the UT foundation Day and emphasized the importance of the Rashtriya Ekta pledge in rendering our responsibilities towards maintaining the Unity and integrity of the Nation.
The Div Com said that UT foundation was a landmark event which helped bring Jammu Kashmir at par with the rest of India.
He listed the major developments seen in education, Power, Health, infrastructure, road connectivity, Tourism, Agriculture, Industries, employment, social security, heritage rejuvenation and other sectors over the last six years.
He further highlighted the benefits of the various Government schemes extended to different sections of the society.
With dedicated focus work is also going on the Heritage rejuvenation, many old temples, shrines are being restored while religious circuits are being developed. Many cultural programmes are being organized to promote local culture, he said.
With the works under Urban Development, SBM and Jammu Smart City project, a new face is being given to the region and the city, the Div Com said.
