Mission Shakti, RDD Empowers women with informative awareness session at Panjgrain Village

Jammu : Mission Shakti SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of women Jammu (Social Welfare Department), dedicated to women’s empowerment, conducted an awareness session here on Wednesday at Panjgrain village, Nagrota. The program aimed to empower women by providing crucial information about the government schemes designed to improve their lives and well-being.
Officials of Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW delivered a detailed lecture on a wide range of government schemes designed to support women, such as the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS),
Listing the women centric schemes, the officials informed the participants about Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), Widow and Old Age Pension schemes, skill oriented courses of ITI and polytechnic, Business Startup schemes like PMEGP, TEJASWINI, MUMKIN, SC ST CORPORATION, WDC, besides one stop centre, special women cell working for their safety and security.
They emphasized the vital role of women in nation-building and the importance of gender equality, highlighting the significance of the girl child in society.
The session, facilitated by Zeeshan, Panchayat Secretary from the BDO Office, Nagrota, focused on key rural development programs, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Attendees were informed about the eligibility criteria and application process for the housing scheme, encouraging them to utilize the available resources.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from local women, who expressed keen interest in the schemes and actively sought guidance on how to benefit from them. The initiative underscores Mission Shakti’s commitment to reaching out to rural communities and ensuring women are well-informed about the support available to them.
This impactful awareness session is just one of the many initiatives undertaken by Mission Shakti Jammu to empower women across the region. The organization continues to work tirelessly to create a brighter future for women, ensuring they have the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
