Kathua Campus organizes Expert Lecture for MBA students

Kathua : The Management School of Kathua Campus, University of Jammu successfully on Wednesday organized an expert lecture on the topic “Export-Import Market and Business Development Strategies” on October 16, 2024. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Shubam Bassan, CEO at Maya Healthsciences and Senior Consultant at Panicle Worldwide Pvt. Ltd.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office University of Jammu, the session aimed to provide students with practical insights into formation of a company, getting legal and regulatory frameworks, global trade dynamics, export-import procedures, attracting the clients and strategies for developing sustainable business models in competitive international markets. Mr. Bassan shared his rich industry experience, focusing on real-world challenges faced by businesses in cross-border transactions and elaborated upon the tactics to overcome them effectively. During the lecture, Mr. Bassan discussed various significant topics such as market analysis, regulatory frameworks, trade financing options, certifications and the importance of building strong business networks to thrive in the trading sector. He also shared execution of an export order involving complex procedure wherein, the exporter has to come across a number of regulatory and trade agencies. Moreover, in the process of executing an export order, an exporter needs to interact with the exporting country’s principal agency governing international trade i.e., generally the Ministry of Commerce and Trade or its body. Such an interactive session encouraged students to explore career opportunities in international trade and gained deeper understanding of global business trends.
Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in his message highlighted the value of such interactions in enhancing students’ industry-oriented knowledge. He further said such lectures help in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, equipping the students with essential skillsets for global business.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head, MCA, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu welcomed the esteemed guest and appreciated the team effort of MBA department for organizing the activity.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment wherein students actively interacted with Mr. Bassan and seeking advice on establishing businesses in the export-import domain and identifying novel growth opportunities.
The event was anchored by Tarandeep Kour, student of MBA Ist semester whereas Ms. Princee Verma, faculty of MBA delivered vote of thanks.
Dr. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Surekha Phakwrya, Gaurav Sharma, Dr. Sunny Sharma, Dr. Bharti Rana, Mr. Pranav Ratta and Dr. Shivani Sharma were also present during the sessiom
