Baramulla : The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Syed QamarSajad Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Steering Committee (DLSC) to accord approval to the selected beneficiaries for various initiatives by the Fisheries Department under the PradhanMantriMatsyaSampadaYojana (PMMSY) 2024-25.
These welfare initiatives include the construction of carp fish ponds, trout raceways, live fish vending centres and the provision of e-rickshaws to enhance fish farming, marketing and transportation.
Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad, Additional Director Fisheries, Baramulla, members of the DLSC, and others attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the chair was informed that the Fisheries Department had received applications for various individual categories, and after a thorough evaluation, 15 applicants were deemed eligible, and their selection was finalized through a draw of lots.
Following a thorough review of the applications and through a draw of lots, approval was granted to 7 eligible beneficiaries, which includes 2 for the construction of carp ponds, 3 for trout raceways designated for ST/ women beneficiaries, 1 for a live fish vending center and 1 for an e-rickshaw.
During the meeting, the ADDC instructed the officers to expedite the induction process, ensuring that the benefits are promptly delivered to the eligible beneficiaries.
