“Wisdom demands that the incoming popular regime does not allow the politics of ego to come in its way in case of establishing harmonious relations with the incumbent Central Government.”
After six years of Presidential rule that saw erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir State bifurcated into two union territories and repeal of Article 370 the popular rule is likely to be restored in a few days this week. Since the Presidential rule of six years in Jammu & Kashmir from 2018 to 2024 was quite different from previous periods of direct central rule, running a Government in Jammu & Kashmir as a Union Territory now would be a new experience. Apart from the restoration of Statehood already committed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah the completion of incomplete projects, improvement in the delivery of public services and reach out of newly elected public representatives with the people at the grass roots deserve and demand the greater attention of the incoming popular Government in Jammu & Kashmir. While the support of the Central Government in running the affairs of the Government in Jammu & Kashmir was not a pressing requirement for any popular regime before the scarping of Article 370 and withdrawal of statehood, the support of the Central Government is now an all time requirement for any popular regime in Jammu & Kashmir. Wisdom demands that the incoming popular regime does not allow the politics of ego to come in its way in case of establishing harmonious relations with the incumbent Central Government. Political wisdom of the incoming Chief Minister would be as such judged by both his words and as well as actions.

By all standards of human understandabilities even a single word can spoil many good actions particularly in a situation where the ruling party at centre is in opposition in J&K Assembly and the single largest opposition party in the parliament is the coalition partner of the ruling party in Jammu & Kashmir. Balancing the relations with the ruling party at the centre interestingly the single largest opposition party in J&K Assembly and his coalition partner here in Jammu & Kashmir also the single largest opposition party in the parliament would be an acid test for the incoming Chief Minister.
