2 drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama, Psychotropic/contraband substances, cash recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwamaand recovered psychotropic/contraband substances & cash from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Pulwama at a checkpoint established at DrusooPulwama arrested a drug peddler identified as Umer Hassan YatooS/o Gh Hassan YatooR/o DrusooPulwama and during search, 22 bottles of Codeine Phosphate (KAIMODIN-T) and cash amount of ₹10,800 were recovered from his possession. During initial enquiry, it surfaces that the accused was involved in selling Codeine Phosphate at high rates to encourage drug addiction among the youth.
Meanwhilea Police party of Police Station Litter, during Naka checking, arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as AqibKhursheedDangroo @JunaidS/o Khursheed Ahmad DangrooR/o Zasoo and during search, Brown Sugar was recovered from his possession.
Stating that the police has later accordingly registered the cases under relevant sections of law at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
