Jammu : In a decisive move against illegal mining, Jammu Police have intensified their efforts to curb the exploitation of public resources, particularly during the election season.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that in a series of coordinated operations across various locations in the South Zone of District Jammu, officers from different police posts made significant seizures. Stating that at Phallain Mandal, under the supervision of Police Sub Inspector Harish Chander, two vehicles loaded with sand were detained for illegal mining activities, Police in its statement further said that at Chatha, Police Sub Inspector Karnail Singh seized one vehicle besides which a truck/dumper was confiscated at Greater Kailash by PSI Wasim Bhatti. “Notably, some of the seized vehicles were found without registration numbers, raising concerns about the legality of their operations. In total, three vehicles were seized in the jurisdiction of PS Satwari, and one vehicle was confiscated under PS Gangyal,” reads the above referred Police statement. The statement further reads “Following the seizures, the District Mining Officer has been notified to take appropriate legal action against the offenders”…
