Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore and also recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by I/C Police Post Fruit Mandi during patrolling at Nowpora Byepass Road apprehended two suspects and during search recovered 540 banned tablets (Alprazolam) from their possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 223/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating an investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
