Dir Agri(J) reviews Rabi seed stocking

Jammu: Agriculture Department has made adequate arrangements of various seeds including wheat and fodder for the ensuing Rabi 2017-18 season, this was disclosed in the course of meeting chaired by Director Agriculture Jammu HK Razdan to take stock of the preparations and the arrangements of various inputs for the current Rabi Season of all the districts of Jammu division.

It was stated that 44609.00 qtls of wheat seed has already been stocked against a total requirement of 59085.00 qtls of wheat seed in all the districts of Jammu Division and about 11000 qtls of wheat seed available at the Central Store is being dispatched to different districts and arrangements for additional requirement of 8000 qtls is being made from the Seed Corporations outside the state.  Meeting was informed that there is no shortage of wheat seed presently and supplies are being dispatched to all the stores.

The Director Agriculture also reviewed the supply and availability of various fertilizers during Rabi season. It was disclosed that     1899 MT’s of Neem Coated Urea, 7028 MT’s of DAP and 1018 M.T’s of MOP have been stocked to make availability of the same to the farmers of the division during current Rabi cropping season.  Officials said the distribution/ transportation of the fertilizers are being made by the concerned companies’ to different districts as per the demand put forth by different institutional agencies.

The Centrally Sponsored Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), National Mission Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA), National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) were also reviewed during the meeting.

It was also disclosed that Directorate of Agriculture Jammu has started a Beekeepers/Mushroom Growers Portal for online registration of honey and mushroom producing farmers of Jammu Division. All the Chief Agriculture Officers have been directed to upload the data of these farmers in the portal http://jkmushroombeekeepingreg.in.

Kulbhushan Singh Sambyal, Joint Director (Inputs), Jammu, CM Sharma, Deputy Director (Central) and Chief Agriculture officers of all the districts attended the meeting.
