Ang: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik Saturday visited the FCI godown, in Mir Bazar and mechanical division Khanabal to take stock of winter arrangements.
While visiting Mir Bazar godown, the DDC was apprised that adequate stock of rice and atta is dumped at the FCI godown to meet the food requirement of the district in case of national highway blockage due to heavy snowfall. Besides, the DDC was also apprised that an adequate number of LPG cylinders have also been dumped with the gas agencies/distributors in the district.
Later, the DDC also visited the Mechanical Division Khannabal where he was informed that an adequate number of snow cutters and other machines are available to meet any eventuality in case of heavy snowfall.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to be ready to meet any eventuality, besides gearing up the manpower at the field level.
