Awareness Prog on Drug Abuse , Drug Menace held at Town Hall Kulgam

Kulgam : Pursuant to the Directions of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority and on the directions of Chairperson District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam, an awareness programme on NALSA (Legal Services to victims of Drug abuse and Drug Menace Scheme 2015) and NDPS Act was held Tuesday at TownhallKulgam.
The programme was organised under the chairpersonship of Chairman DLSA Kulgam, Aijaz Ahmad Khan and under the supervision of the Secretary DLSA Kulgam, Muzamil Ahmad Wani.
The programme was attended by Medical officers, Officers and Officials from Police, Prosecuting officers, LADCs, Members of Juvenile Justice Board, members of Child Welfare Committee, Members of Bar Association Kulgam, PLVs, staff of DLSA and College students.
The resource persons for the programme included Bari (Senior Prosecuting Officer), Ld. Advocate ArshidHussain Baba, BasitFarooq Assistant LADC, Dr.Irshad Ahmad Clinical Psychologist.
The resource persons threw light on various provisions of the NDPS Act and NALSA scheme while emphasizing upon the basic postulates of the scheme and requirement of the collective efforts for the eradication of the Drug addiction menace.
Secretary DLSA in his speech focused upon the college students more particularly while deliberating upon other officials and said that the real essence of the duty lies in submission towards working for humanity at a larger level, and the efforts for eradication of drug menace is one such goal to be achieved.
He also said that the Special Units for eradication of the Drug abuse would be constituted and it will take all stakeholders into confidence as its members and work for the effectuation and implementation of all measures taken by the Executive for the eradication of the Drug menace and work at grass roots level in order to ensure that there is proper prevention.
