Kathua : To engage and educate voters about the importance of participating in the electoral process, the roads of AC 68 Hiranagar were transformed into vibrant canvases promoting voter awareness through Rangoli art. The creative medium was employed to capture the attention of voters and encourage them to exercise their democratic rights.
Nine educational institutions, Government Degree College Hiranagar, besides Government Higher Secondary Schools Hiranagar, Chakra, Marheen, Kore Punnu, Sallan, Infant Jesus, Sai International, and GGHS Hiranagar, participated in the unique program. Teams from these institutions created Rangoli designs on the road, conveying messages that emphasized the importance of voting and becoming role models for others.
The event was organized in the presence of ARO Hiranagar, Executive Officer MC Hiranagar, ZEO Hiranagar, and the Principal of GHSS Hiranagar. Their presence further highlighted the importance of this initiative in encouraging voter participation.
In addition to the Rangoli event, AC 68 Hiranagar leveraged social media to broaden voter outreach. WhatsApp groups were used to share audio messages in both Dogri and Hindi, specifically targeting 2,214 farmers in the region, urging them to cast their vote. Similar outreach efforts were carried out with beneficiaries connected to various government programs such as Poshan, RDD, Health, Education, and the Municipal Committee.
In a further creative initiative under the SVEEP program, the Power Development Department (PDD) sent electricity bills stamped with the message “Chunav ka Parv, Desh ka Garv” (Festival of Elections, Pride of the Nation) to 2,000 consumers, reminding them of the importance of voting.
Later, a voter awareness program and a signature campaign were organized at GGHS Hiranagar, further spreading the message of electoral participation.
These diverse efforts demonstrate the commitment of AC 68 Hiranagar to ensure that every eligible voter in the constituency is informed, engaged, and ready to participate in the upcoming elections.
