Andrabi inspects progress of dev works in Dooru

Ang: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Power, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi Thursday visited lower belt of Dooru assembly segment and took stock of various ongoing developmental projects there.

The Minister was informed that work on Rs. 12 crore Larkipora double lane bridge been started and is in full swing. Concerned officers informed the Minister that 95 percent of work on Polytechnic College Larkipora has been completed and classes for various engineering courses have already been started.

Later, Andrabi visited various villages of the lower belt of Dooru and listened to the grievances of the people there. Issues regarding road connectivity, power, drinking water and other developmental works were projected by public delegations. The inhabitants of Bonapora-Larkipora demanded the construction of road from Polytechnic College Larkipora to Kabamarg.

Members of Sikh Community at Zaldora demanded the construction of water supply scheme and fencing for cremation ground.

The Minister gave the delegations a patient hearing and assured that all of their demands would be addressed in a phased manner. He also instructed the concerned BDO to prepare the detailed project report for the fencing of cremation ground at Zaldoora.

Andrabi said the present Government led by Chief Minister  Mehbooba Mufti is committed to upgrade the living standard of the people especially weaker sections of the society. He said several initiatives are underway for improving, re-building and upgrading of basic infrastructure of all sectors with the aim to augment the existing infrastructure.

Regarding Haj-2018, the Minister said Union Government has decided to explore the possibility of sea voyage for the Haj Pilgrims, adding that from this year more facilities will be provided to the intending pilgri

SDM Dooru, Tehsildar Dooru, Chief Education Officer Anantnag, CMO Anantnag, Exens of Irrigation & Flood Control, R&B, PHE and officers of the PDD and Rural Development Department accompanied the Minister during the visit.
