Jammu: Jammu Police on Monday achieved a swift breakthrough in a theft case, arresting the culprit and recovering stolen jewellery in Akhnoor.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said “On September 15, Gourav Gupta, a resident of Ward No. 7, Akhnoor, reported the theft of a golden chain to Police Station Akhnoor, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 166/2024 U/S 379 IPC was registered in this connection and investigation commenced.”
Police in its statement further said that through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, human intelligence, and technical support, the suspects were identified and after intense questioning, Ashok Kumar, son of Thoru Ram, resident of Ghar Majoor Chowki Choura, admitted their involvement in the commission of crime.
Stating that which acting on the inputs of the said accused the stolen golden chain, weighing approximately 15 grams was recocover from his residence, Police in its statement further said that the recovery was made by a police team headed by SHO Akhnoor and further investigation is underway.
