Sustained SVEEP campaign steers up electoral awareness

Exciting SVEEP events hosted across Rajouri to promote voter awareness

Rajouri : A series of Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation events were organized on Saturday in five constituencies of Rajouri District here under the directions of District Election Officer Abhishek Sharma and the guidance of District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Bishamber Dass (CEO Rajouri), today.
The SVEEP team of Assembly Constituency 85-Rajouri, along with the District SVEEP team, organized a Mega Awareness Programme in the vicinity of village Dalhori and GHSS Dalhori.
The programme featured a variety of activities such as a plantation drive, door to door campaign, pledge ceremony, a signature campaign, sports events, and a Mega Rally across the village.
Around 350 students, staff members, and locals participated in the program, all committed to supporting voter mobilization, motivation, and sensitization efforts.
District SVEEP Team Member and Lecturer Mohammad Ayaz Raina and SVEEP Nodal Officer AC-85 Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Principal GHSS Dalhori Raj Kumar delivered motivational lectures to inspire the local community for participating in the electoral process.
Meanwhile, in Assembly Constituency 83 Kalakote-Sunderbani, the SVEEP team, under the supervision of Nodal Officer Babu Singh, organized a Voter Awareness Programme at the Anganwadi Centre in Pind Tallian (Pyt. Channi-B). The event, which was attended by local residents and Anganwadi staff including Salma Yasmeen (AWW) and Shashi Bala (AWH), featured a motivational speech by Muddasir Mughal.
The staff and students of GHSS Qila Darhal in Nowshera organized a rally under the guidance of Nodal Officer AC-84 J.P. Singh to raise awareness about voting.
Similarly, GMHSS Lamberi held an inter-class football match under the banner of SVEEP, where students actively participated to spread electoral awareness among the community.
Nodal Officer Assembly Constituency 86 Budhal, Prof. Tahir Nadeem and the SVEEP team inspected polling stations Jamola-A and Jamola-D, where voter turnout in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was below 60%. The team engaged with members of Booth Level Awareness Groups (BAGs) and local residents to understand the reasons for low voter turnout. The BAG members were instructed to intensify voter awareness efforts ahead of the J&K Legislative Assembly elections. A pledge-taking ceremony was also held at GHS Larkutti. The students and staff vowed to participate in upcoming elections without intimidation or inducement.
In Draj area, BLOs Mohd Azam (Part No. 64-Draj-B) and Abdul Hamid (Part No. 66-Draj-C), along with students from GMS Naka Gabber and GMS Palwar, demonstrated a creative thermocol dummy EVM to promote voter education through hands-on experience.
A general Voter awareness program was organized at Government Middle School Budhkhanari falling in Assembly Constituency 87 Thannamandi. The event included a pledge ceremony and a quiz competition, involving around 80 students and staff members.

Sustained SVEEP campaign steers up electoral awareness in AC Kathua
Kathua: The electoral landscape of AC 67-Kathua (SC) is vibrant with a series of dynamic events organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program to encourage active voter participation in the Assembly Elections.
A highly impactful event held At GHS Parliwand saw a huge turnout of students, staff, local citizens and Government functionaries, including Chief Education Officer Mangat Ram Sharma, Principal GHSS Boys, Tara Chand Sharma, and Sector Magistrate Anil Sharma.
Students, guided by Kamlesh Kumari, performed a Nukkad Natak emphasizing the importance of voter participation, followed by cultural programs and a hands-on demonstration of the voting process using a handmade EVM. The event concluded with a voter pledge and rally, reinforcing the commitment to ensuring maximum turnout.
A voter awareness event at Lakhanpur, led by students of Government High School Lakhanpur and guided by Teacher Vivek Sharma, featured a Nukkad Natak and speeches, drawing over 200 locals.
Prominent figures encouraged the public to exercise their democratic right, with the event culminating with a group song and a pledge to vote.

Poonch: SVEEP cultural show organised near LOC to spread voter awareness
Poonch : The District Election Authority Poonch organized a mega Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, here Saturday at GHSS Jhullas near the Line of Control (LoC). The programme began with the singing of the National Anthem.
General Election Observer, Solai Bharathi Dasan was the chief guest at the event featuring a scintillating Cultural Show.
District Election Officer (DEO) Vikas Kundal presided over the function. The General Election Observer, Solai Bharathi Dasan administered the voting pledge to the gathering, emphasizing the importance of electoral participation.
The event showcased a vibrant cultural programme presented by students, including a Nukkad Natak, Folk dance, Group songs, and speeches by first time voters on power of Vote in a democracy.
The performances highlighted the significance of voting, electoral participation, and the importance of exercising franchise.
A plantation drive under the aegis of Green Polling Station initiative was also launched by the General Election Observer and District Election Officer (DEO) by planting saplings. The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage eco-friendly practices in polling stations.

Green SVEEP event promotes voter awareness initiative in Bani
Kathua : As part of the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, a series of plantation drives were organized under the theme Green SVEEP at various polling stations in the Bani and Lohai Malhar areas of Bani (63) constituency.
The initiative, held under the guidance of Returning Officer (RO) Gaisul Haq, aimed to promote voter awareness while also emphasizing environmental conservation.
Forest officials from the territorial forest ranges of Basholi and Billawar divisions actively participated in the plantation efforts at polling stations including Lowang, Fatehpur, Charoga, Bhandar, Kachir, Nathi, Khurrwah, Gatti, and Bani.
The plantation drives were carried out in collaboration with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the respective polling stations, further highlighting the importance of community involvement in both electoral and environmental stewardship.
AC SVEEP Nodal Officer, Prof. Naseeb Kr Bhagat, along with Range Officer Vineet Gupta, led the plantation of Chir and Deodar saplings at Government Girls High School Bani, with the participation of students and staff.
During the event, Prof. Bhagat delivered a lecture on the significance of voting and the role of the SVEEP program in encouraging maximum voter participation in the upcoming assembly elections in J&K. He also emphasized the responsibility of citizens in maintaining ecological balance alongside their civic duties.

GHSS Dharmahanpur hosts SVEEP program to boost voter participation
Kathua : A voter awareness program aimed at fostering electoral education and promoting participation in the upcoming assembly elections was organized on Saturday here at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Dharmahanpur.
The event took place under the esteemed supervision of Returning Officer (RO) 65-Basohli, Anil Kumar Thakur, and was part of the flagship Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Themed “Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy,” the event featured a variety of activities, including Nukkad Nataks, cultural performances, poster-making, and a voter awareness rally. These activities were designed to engage the community, particularly first-time voters, and encourage them to turn out in record numbers for the upcoming election scheduled for 1st October 2024.
Over 150 attendees, including students, faculty members, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from nearby polling stations attended the program.
Principal of GHSS Dharmahanpur, Kartar Chand and Sector Officer Vikas Malpotra interacted with the students and community members, emphasizing the importance of voting as both a constitutional right and a civic duty.
