Jammu : In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, R.S. Pura Police, as part of Operation SANJEEVANI, apprehended a drug peddler and seized 1.76 kg of Ganja, 60 grams of Charas, and ₹2,08,930/- in cash.
A police spokesman said that on 6th September, a police team from PS R.S. Pura, led by SHO PS R.S. Pura, conducted routine patrolling and set up a Naka at Badyal Morh, near Lovely Palace.
“During the operation, they intercepted a suspicious individual on a scooter (registration No. JK02Q-2960). The suspect, identified as Sunil Kumar alias Punjabi, son of Om Parkash, a resident of Kotli Arjun Singh, Tehsil R.S. Pura, Jammu, was found in possession of the contraband hidden in the scooter’s storage compartment,” he said.
The spokesman said that the recovered items included 1.76 kg of Ganja, 60 grams of Charas, and a substantial cash amount of ₹2,08,930/-. A case has been registered under FIR No. 194/2024 U/S 8/20/27(a)/60 of the NDPS Act at PS R.S. Pura, and the accused has been taken into custody.
“This arrest marks another victory in the Jammu Police’s ongoing efforts to combat drug peddling and dismantle networks trafficking illicit substances in the region. The investigation is expected to yield further leads into the broader drug trade network,” he said.
